We sat down for a chat with Brighton rap and production duo Frankie Stew & Harvey Gunn ahead of their show at SWG3 next month...
Tell us a bit about your new single Barry White
This was made in February when we were away on a writing trip in the Malvern Hills, in the west of England. It was the final song we made on the trip, and at this point we we thought we’d exhausted ourselves creatively, but Harvey jumped back on the buttons and inspired this love letter from Frankie to his closest and dearest
What’s your go-to album when connected to the aux on the tour bus?
We’re really feeling Bawo’s project Legitimate Cause at the moment
Which artists made you want to get into music for a living?
The Streets and Kano were big influences for us
What is your dream venue/festival to play at?
Dream venue is Alexandra Palace and playing at Glastonbury was a dream come true for us. We can’t wait to play there again
What can we expect from your show at SWG3 next month?
A spectacular event for our Scottish fans. We absolutely love playing Glasgow and can't wait for it!
