Medicine Cabinet is a band-come-collective based in Glasgow, making raw and dancefloor-ready pop-rock. Despite having no music released the band has developed a strong following in a flash, with fans already singing the words, keen to know more. This has already led to a Scottish headline tour, support slots with the likes of Spector, The Murder Capital, as well as shooting with renowned photographer and fashion designer Hedi Slimane. They’ve been best friends since they met and their story is laced with serendipity. Sonically, they exist between the glittering but grungy worlds of bands like No Doubt and Blondie, retaining the playfulness of the B52’s, the occasional haunting electronic menace of Grimes, and the captivating story-telling ability of Kate Bush. On vocals is Anna Acquroff, a twenty-year-old model and student of sociomusicology. She is complemented alongside Cal Mingus on bass and synth, Joshua Chakir on guitar, and drummer Tom Lawrence. The band is completed with Eilidh O’Brien on guitar and keyboard, who studies production and music psychology by day, where she and Acquroff first met.
