The Nickajack Men are a five-piece band from Falkirk, who pitch their style somewhere between alternative-country and indie rock. The band features vocalist and guitarist Lewis White (23), guitarist and vocalist Michael Garner (20), bassist Jamie Burns (23), drummer Matthew McAlister (22) and Matthew Boyle (22) on Keys. Having all grew up in the same town with a similar interest in music, they decided to form The Nickajack Men in 2014.
With heavy influences from bands such as The Districts, The War on Drugs, Delta Spirit and The Alabama Shakes, the band started writing their own music while playing local shows and gaining valuable live experience. The Nickajack Men released their first single "Gordo" in July 2016 celebrating their debut release with a sold out show at King Tuts Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow.
The ambitious young band, who were awarded 2015 Best Newcomers, 2016 Best Alternative/Indie Act and also 2016 Best Song for their latest single "Hurricane" at the Alternative Music in Falkirk Awards, are looking forward to playing several more headline shows in the near future. They have steadily gained a significant following, having recently played their second sold out Glasgow show for the release of single "Hurricane" in less than 6 months. Their musical influences have a huge impact on their live shows and their dynamic performances continue to impress loyal fans and new followers alike.
