The Rails are Kami Thompson and James Walbourne and hail from Camden in North London. The duo got together in 2013 and were soon signed to Island Records legendary pink label. Their debut album 'Fair Warning' garnered 5/5 reviews in the music press and was voted the number one Folk Album for 2014 by Mojo. The following year the pair won the prestigious Horizon Award for best new artist at the Radio Two folk awards and in 2016 they travelled to America to record their second album ‘Other People’ with Nashville legend Ray Kennedy. Tours of the UK and America followed as the Rails grew into a five piece electric band. 2019 has seen James and Kami sign to Thirty Tigers (home to Jason Isbell, Sturgil Simpson and Lucinda Williams) and record a brand new album with Stephen Street. The band unveil songs from the new record alongside fan favourites at this years Cambridge Folk Festival.
