“These boys are one the finest bands you could see… I love the new sound of Storm.”
Paolo Nutini
Founded in 2011 by frontman Martin Finnigan and guitarist Phil Rainey (former band mate of Peter Hook in Monaco), the band comprise James Cowell (Drums) Joe Wilson, (Guitar) Sam Wilson (Bass). Renowned for their energetic live performances, The Rainband’s new album features favourites from recent sets, leading off with ‘Gimme Love’ – a real staple of performances over the last 18 months and closing with the brilliance of ‘Heading South’. ‘The Shape of Things To Come’ is a brighter more optimistic response to the band’s moodier, bluesy predecessor. With the jingle-jangle pop bliss of ‘New York’, the soul driven ‘Out of Sight’ and the psychedelic ‘Warhol’ the album touches on sounds loved by all. The Rainband’s single ‘Rise Again’ entered the top 10 indie charts upon its release in June 2012. ‘Rise Again’ also broke through in Italy, remaining in the Virgin charts for fourteen weeks and peaking at number 5.
