While many of us will look to pizza and classic TV shows as a break from reality, Trunky Juno sees them as moments of inspiration as he looks to create a diverse and relatable catalogue of releases that all come together to create a wonderfully irreverent and unique songwriter. Since first emerging with his debut single ‘Small Town’ at the beginning of 2019, the lo-fi frontman has always looked to deliver a multifaceted and eclectic aesthetic to his music. With notable call-backs to the romance of the 80s new wave era, the charming tones of dream-pop, and whimsy of modern day crooners like Father John Misty and Mac DeMarco, the singer and producer always looks to serenade us with his quirky musings and offbeat personality. But just like any captivating artist, his use of experimental instrumentation remains at the core to his chosen direction. Throughout his career to date, he has brought in a wide range of guitars, basslines and drums to conceive his intriguing vigour, giving each of his singles their own direction and leaving us forever wondering what he will come up with next. Trunky Juno may be considered a DIY, bedroom project, but with so much grandeur and quality packed into each song, it is hard to imagine a more professional sounding result. His influences may be unconventional, but with each single, he is forever pushing his sound further into the unknown and undiscovered, leaving us all in awe of his forward-thinking persona
